I am Assistant Professor (RTT) of Political Science at the Department of Political Science of Luiss Guido Carli in Rome and a member of CISE, the Centro Italiano Studi Elettorali.
My research asks how European citizens respond to open borders and to the climate crisis — and what those responses mean for parties, elections, and social policy. I work mostly with comparative survey data, survey experiments, and quantitative text analysis.

European solidarity — Who is willing to share risks across member states, and how that willingness reshapes political competition in the EU.
Free movement — How transnational experience changes political attitudes and behaviour, and how concern about emigration enters the ballot box.
Climate politics — Public support for the energy transition and eco-social policies, and how climate became a politicised issue in Italy.
Research infrastructures — As part of the Luiss team of MEDem, the growing European infrastructure on electoral democracy now on the ESFRI Roadmap, I help develop ATLAS, an innovative platform for data linkage and harmonization.

September 2026 — SISP Annual Conference, Trento. I presented “Yeasayers, Naysayers, and Non-Voters: Open-Ended Motivations in the Italian Justice Referendum” at the 39th Annual Conference of the Italian Political Science Association (SISP), and presented the MEDem ATLAS platform to the SISP Standing Group POPE. I also co-chaired panels on direct democracy and referendums and on climate politics and green backlash.

2026 — MEDem on the ESFRI Roadmap. MEDem – Monitoring Electoral Democracy, the research infrastructure I work on as part of the Luiss team, has been included in the ESFRI Roadmap 2026.
